While our name is officially Ardrahan National School, we are commonly referred to as Labane National School, as we are situated in the townland of Labane on the outskirts of Ardrahan Village. We are a co-educational primary school catering for pupils from 4 to 13 years of age. We are currently an 8 teacher school, comprising 6 mainstream class teachers and 2 Special Educational Needs (SEN) teachers. We also have 2 full-time and 1 part- time SNA. We have a part-time secretary.

Ardrahan National School has a very dedicated and committed team of talented teachers, SNAs and ancillary staff who work together to ensure that each child in our care achieves their potential. Our vibrant and committed staff provides a happy and safe space for your child so that they can have positive learning experiences which will springboard them, with a love for learning and a growth mind set, to secondary school and far beyond.

We work hard on Literacy and Numeracy and also recognise the enormous importance of the Arts, sports and other aspects of the curriculum. We place a particular emphasis on creativity and the arts and understand how vitally important these are in the world today and, of course, for the future. Physical activity is valued, promoted and enjoyed by all. Children engage in various sports such as hurling, camogie, football, athletics and rugby on a daily basis.

Kindness and respect are fostered at all times at Ardrahan N.S. as we are aware that, alongside parents, we are moulding the adults of the future who will be contributing positively to society. There is a strong sense of community at Ardrahan N.S. which has been proven time and time again with the great support shown by parents and extended families for many events held over the years.

Ardrahan N.S. has a Catholic Ethos and this is evident throughout the school. Each classroom has a sacred space and all liturgical celebrations are marked during the year. The Grow in Love programme by Veritas is taught in every class from Junior Infants to Sixth Class.
